In and Out of the Souks

One of the most amazing parts of Marrakech, much like any city, is getting lost in it. And it is VERY easy to get lost in this city.

The Souks dominate Marrakech life. They are markets, homes, shops…for tourists and locals alike. Over the course of a couple of days, we wound in and out of them, past spice markets and meat shops. We made way for carts drawn by donkeys and people, being called out by shop keepers.

Oddly, I felt like we had this air of protection around us. Most people didn’t bother us.

And the shopkeepers assumed we were Spanish, French, German…all before Americans!
