Jaunt through the Hudson Highlands

After a 90-minute train ride to Cold Spring north of the city, I walked to the Brook Trailhead to find that the volunteer group I was meeting was nowhere to be found. After an hour of trying to figure out what had happened, apparently there was a time mix-up and the crew had already left up the trail and could not be found.

So, instead of heading back to work, I jaunted up the mountain (adjacent to Breakneck) and back down through the Hudson Highlands. Along the way I stumbled upon some ruins and this caterpillar before getting on a train back to Manhattan.
