AN ODE TO
THE FALLEN TOWERS

I remember precisely where I was and what I was doing on Tuesday, September 11, 2001 when the country was attacked by terrorists. Those memories will never leave me, and I know most other Americans feel similarly. What most Americans did not feel is what it was like to actually be in New York City at the time. The National September 11 Memorial & Museum shows us that.

Obviously an emotional experience, my friend Lucinda and I took our time absorbing the ruins of the towers and the lives and city their falling shattered. Amid a throng of tourists and learners, we trekked through the museum. Both deeply personal and incredibly shared, the memories came back to me.

I tried to capture some of what I was feeling in these photographs.
