Huaca Pucllana stands in the heart of the Miraflores district of Lima – the culture and artist center of the city. Huaca is the Quechua word for shrine, and Pucllana is the name given to this partially excavated complex that served as an religious and administrative place.

Mariel and I, along with our new friends found at the hostel we were staying at, took a taxi to the shrine and embarked on a short journey back through time to the coastal region.

We climbed the pyramid, learned about textiles and ceramics and got to stroll through their mini-farm.
