Around the Okanagan country of south central British Columbia, my friends and I found a weekend paradise. We kayaked, swam in the pool, and went wine tasting!
The weather was interesting – overcast and incredibly hot. Odd weather for May.
On a walk around our resort, there were a few paths up and down the lake cliffs. It felt peaceful, moving from overcast to sunshine and back again all day. I like this photograph a lot - the color and the composition.
But I also like the loneliness of the photograph. Juxtapose this bench with the fact that half of the resort homes were for sale, and it tells a deeper story of the Okanagan valley.
The area was dry and gorgeous - perfect grape growing country. In fact it's one of the top producing areas in Canada. I really liked the composition of this photo. It was also really surprising how monotone the green is.
