Very near to where Stéphane’s parents live, and also known as KLCC or “Kuala Lumpur City Centre,” are the Petronas Towers – the tallest buildings in the world from 1998 to 2004, and still the tallest twin towers in the world. So we climbed up them.
Each day our frame of reference was dominated by the Petronas Towers. We sped by them to the airport, walked around them during the day, ate dinner under them at night and finally, one night, took the elevator up 41 stories to the Skybridge, and finally 86 stories to the observation deck.
I had a blast, gallivanting from side to side, window to window, leaning out, taking pictures, doing anything I could to get as close to the edges. Stéphane not so much.
