One place that I had never been before was Coit Tower, a unique structure sitting atop Telegraph Hill in the city. This is odd, of course, because I had grown up just north of San Francisco.
The tower itself was quite marvelous! Surrounding the bottom floor were a series of intense murals, capturing both some of the successes and the tribulations of San Franciscans throughout the years. The view of a man being pick pocketed at gun point, and those faces of the working men.
At the top, of course the landscape was magnificent. The city, islands, bridges and Marin headlands lay out for miles around, below a partly cloudy sky.
