A Walk Among the Gods of Justice

We weren’t really expecting the Justitiepaleis – or Palace of Justice – to be as memorable as it was. But from the trek up up up to the formidable building we found, it was one of the most beautiful, stark experiences.

Walking up the steps past gargantuan columns, it felt as if we were walking into the past. Into a Grecian or Roman forum or palace or marketplace. I don’t think I have ever experienced something like it.

Inside, there was a hubbub of activity, officials and pages hurrying past. The roof was very high. We walked the upper level around, and then headed out to pack up our apartment.
