And the Snow Mountains Echoed

Hiking in the Cascades is always a treat, but when the last mile is through feet of snow, and the weather is sunny and warm, and you’re surrounded by snow capped peaks on all sides… well, then it’s life changing.

Wesley, Ian and I hiked for miles up Mt. Dickerman in Washington state. Not only was it fun hiking with my two favorite hiking buddies, but mostly it was simply magnificent. The lower parts were mossy and dense, but then it opened up into fields of snow. At the peak, we could see the entire north Puget Sound, including the San Juans, Mt. Baker, Mt. Rainier and towns below.

We felt like we were at the top of the world…because we were.
