It’s difficult to put to words what Angels in America is about, and even more difficult for me to describe how seeing the play impacted me – from the front row, no less. Stéphane and I went to see Angels in America in New York City over twenty years after it first premiered in the same city.
I remembered playing Mr. Lies in the Antarctica scene during my freshman year class while we read the play.
The play was stunning and stark, funny and full of love and freedom and the worst parts of humanity. I could have listened to “Louis” and Lee Pace talk forever. The show left me wanting for more, satisfied and introspective.
