Far outside the city center (about a 50 minute walk) in the newer part of Marrakech, is the Jardin Majorelle, a garden built in the 1900s and later bought by Yves Saint-Laurent. We walked all of the way there from our riad in the Souks (in the heat), but it was a lovely to chat with everyone.
The garden itself is very picturesque. Despite the crowds, we explored the grounds, marked by the rich blue house in which was a spectacular exhibit on Berber culture. The museum contained artwork, jewelry, dress and weapons.
We jaunted around, did a photo shoot (or two) and got lunch right outside the park at this yummy vegetarian restaurant.
