We woke up early to pile into a passenger van with all of our luggage and our driver and tour guide, Ismail, and start our grand tour of Morocco. Our itinerary from Marrakech took us through the Atlas Mountains, on to the Sahara and then north to Fes and, finally, Casablanca.
The high Atlas Mountains were sparse and dusty, with a lot of construction work and a caravan of vehicles trekking up and up. This post is compiled of some of the sights we saw along the way, including a group of rock formations called Monkey’s Paw.
We also took some drive by pictures of a camel caravan — our first of many camel sightings.
