Before I moved to NYC, I had never truly realized just how omnipresent the city and its icons were in our media, our movies, our culture. One of my the most stark realizations I encountered was when I saw the Statue of Liberty from Battery Park across the Upper Bay. It. Was. TINY!
Flash forward a year later, and Stéphane, Callie and I had tickets to go up to the crown of the Statue of Liberty! We were thrilled.
We spent a few hours on a beautiful, sunny morning going to Liberty and Ellis Islands. We climbed the hundreds of narrow stairs up to the top of our “little” lady of liberty. It was a really fun, profound experience. I felt very fortunate to be able to have visited.
