It was gloriously sunny when we landed in Copenhagen for a nice weekend away. We were staying in the Nørrebro neighborhood with our friend Grace, just a short metro ride from the main sights and downtown area. On Saturday morning, after lazing about and sipping some coffee in the apartment, we journeyed downtown for lunch at Torvehallerne and then started a walkabout through Nyhavn and along the docks toward The Little Mermaid statue.
Along the way, we stumbled upon a tall ship docked that was welcoming visitors, which offered some beautiful views of the water and interesting views into its inner workings. The statue that we eventually reached was completely overrun by tourists, so we passed on it and circled back through the star fort.
I grouped these pictures with some photos from our final night, when we returned to Nyhavn at dusk after a long walk winding back from Freetown Christiania. So beautiful in the fading light, we rushed along the canal in search of food. But not before I was able to snap a few more photos!
